Say Anything Biography
Say Anything is a pop-punk band initially created by the singer/songwriter Max Bemis. Say Anything first started up while all its members were in high school and has had a vast array of members throughout its existence, with the most current lineup being; Bemis (guitar/vocals), Coby Linder (drums) and Alex Kent (bass).
Say Anythings first releases were Junior Varsity! and Menorah/Majora and a full-length album, Baseball. These three releases saw the band becoming more emo rock/pop-punk - a music genre made popular by bands like blink-182. Bumis is now unsatisfied with these releases however, therefore he rarely ever plays any of the songs live.
Therefore, we can assume that the new Say Anything didn't really appear until Summer of 2004 with their much sought after debut with Doghouse Records - '... Is a Real Boy'. The track was a punk-rock musical produced by Tim O'Heir and Stephen Trask, and Bemis managed to play almost every instrument on the record.
Unfortunately, Bemis who suffers from bipolar disorder strugged to cope with stress both during and after the albums recording. Because of this, Say Anything started to drop off, missing two tours during 2005. Despite this setback, Say Anything signed a contact with J Records later on in 2005 and re-released '... Is a Real Boy' in February 2006.
